For January, we take a look at an up-and-coming UK business aiming to lead the way in responsible buying so that all of us can contribute towards a better tomorrow for our planet. Soul Good Stuff is a retailer with an ever-expanding variety of ethical products available at great prices which has earned them a fantastic reputation and proves that we don’t have to spend big money for ethical everyday items.
What’s the good cause?
It’s all very well promoting a more ethical and sustainable way of life, but what does this actually mean? Soul Good Stuff tackles many smaller issues, including the very current topic of the ongoing battle against plastic. By using as little plastic as possible in their products, as well as ensuring packaging is biodegradable and recycled, they do their bit towards reducing waste plastic. They also choose their suppliers carefully, ensuring they are Fair Trade, use ethical methods and contribute towards tackling environmental issues. Their products are never tested on animals.
Furthermore, Soul Good Stuff re-invests 1% of their annual profits into planting trees around the world and aims to be involved in more community and charitable projects as the business grows.
Sounds great, but what can I buy?
Head over to their shop and you can see for yourself, but their range is expanding rapidly. It’s everyday items with an innovative and ethical twist, such as bamboo toothbrushes (see above!), natural soaps, reusable coffee cups and even bamboo kitchen roll! It’s well worth a look, but we’d personally suggest heading over to their Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/SoulGoodStuff/ first for cool giveaways and offers. You’ll also see the latest on their newest products. If you fancy seeing the products first hand, they’ve confirmed that they will be at the Leicester Vegan Festival on Saturday 23rd March 2019 – so go along and say hello!
Do you run a growing ethical business or know of one which gets your approval? We want to hear about it! We’ll aim to shine the spotlight on one business every month throughout 2019 so contact us here or via our social media with your suggestions.
